White Pizza - by James Theopistos
White pizza is called this name due to the lack of tomato based sauce and stress on use of white cheeses. The White pizza has become very popular, now offered by many establishments. Here is a quick and tasty recipe.
Ingredients
- Refrigerated or Pre made Pizza Crust
- Olive Oil
- Mozzarella Cheese
- Provolone Cheese
- Parmesan Cheese
- Pinch of garlic
- Pinch of basil
- 2 Pinches of oregano
- Vegetable Toppings (i.e. Spinach, Onions, broccoli, Asparagus, tomato slices
If using refrigerated crust, precook the crust. Lightly brush top of cooked crust with olive oil. Sprinkle basil, oregano and garlic on top of crust. Then top with Mozzarella Cheese and Provolone Cheese, then vegetable toppings, last adding the parmesan cheese and another pinch of oregano. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbling. (Optional alternative is to use crumbled Feta instead of Provolone)
